Some of the best things we can do for any time in our life is to be active and help others. Even Keel seeks to combine those with our inaugural fundraising event – a 5k (or stair climb for those of you stuck on ships). Proceeds from this event will be split between the development of an Even Keel Scholarship Fund, and a donation to the Capital Food Bank which serves families in the DC Metropolitan Area.
Just as most jobs on ships are better done together, we encourage you to get a group for this event. Run together, walk together, or climb together. A photo gallery page will be set up, and please post your accomplishments on the Even Keel facebook and instagram pages (can be reached from the side menu). In true sailor fashion those who contribute $50 will receive not only the thanks of numerous people all over the country but an Even Keel Challenge coin.
